Boombotix, a San Francisco-based wearable audio company, has received a $4 million strategic investment from new and existing investors. New investors include Social+Capital Partnership, Baseline, Red Hills, Great Oaks and Grishin Robotics, while existing investors in the investment include Walden Venture Capital and David Dolby.
Thoma Bravo has completed its investment in Segall Bryant & Hamill, an independent investment management firm based in Chicago with more than $9 billion in assets under management. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Vector Capital, a tech-focused private equity firm, has acquired CollabNet, a provider of cloud-based application lifecycle management solutions, from existing venture investors and other shareholders. Along with the buyout, Vector also has made a growth investment in the company.
Thomas H. Lee Partners has completed the acquisition of online contact lens retail business 1-800 CONTACTS from WellPoint. Financial terms were not disclosed. As part of the deal, 1-800 CONTACTS chief executive officer Jonathan Coon is retiring and will be replaced by Brian Bethers.
FourPoint Energy has acquired oil and gas properties and related midstream assets in the Western Anadarko Basin from EnerVest. As part of the deal, the firm has bought for $268 million a stake in Laredo Petroleum and SM Energy acquisitions closed by EnerVest in the second half of 2013, including interest in more than 1,200 producing wells. Also, FourPoint has raised more than $1 billion including $200 million in direct private equity and $800 million in term debt from EIG Global Energy Partners and GSO Capital Partners.

Thoma Bravo is marketing its flagship Fund XI, less than two years after closing its prior vehicle on $1.25 billion, according to three people with knowledge of the firm.
The Jordan Company has agreed to acquire Transilwrap Company, a manufacturer, converter and distributor of plastic film used in printing, laminating, packaging and industrial applications. As part of the announced acquisition, CIT Group has arranged a $160 million senior secured credit facility.
The Small Business Investor Alliance, an association for lower middle market private equity funds and investors, has hired Christopher Hayes as its legislative and regulatory counsel. Hayes most recently worked with the U.S. Department of Justice's civil division, commercial litigation branch, working on financial fraud cases involving financial institutions in connection with the 2008 subprime mortgage crisis.
Oregon's state Treasury senior investment officer John Hershey is taking over the newly created role of director of alternatives, which will put him in charge of alternatives, private equity, real estate and opportunistic strategies.
