Digital Entertainment Ventures and its Seoul-based partner DEV Korea have chosen the next eight Korean startups that will receive funding via the DEV Korea Discovery Fund. No financial terms were disclosed. Also, the startups will participate in a month-long accelerator program in New York where they will "further develop their products and receive expert guidance on topics such as branding and marketing." Among those selected are Gamecoach, an eSports instructional platform; Tackl, a career development platform; and theCre8tion, a video editing platform provider for the B2B sector.
Graham Goldsmith and Stone Point Capital have launched Cross Ocean Partners, an asset management platform focused on stressed and distressed credit investment opportunities. Goldsmith, Stone Point and management provided $240 million to Cross Ocean. A former head of global credit and special situations at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldsmith will serve as Cross Ocean's CEO and co-chief investment officer. In addition to the launch, Cross Ocean has acquired Capula Investment Management's European special situations business. No financial terms were disclosed. Barclays provided financial advice to Capula on the transaction.
Francisco Partners has completed the acquisition of a stake in ShoreGroup Inc. No financial terms were disclosed. Headquartered in New York City, ShoreGroup is a managed services company.
Kayne Anderson Energy Funds has provided a $150 million commitment to Amistad Energy Partners. Based in Houston, Texas, Amistad is a newly formed oil and gas company.
Skyview Capital has agreed to acquire Syncplicity from EMC. No financial terms were disclosed. Syncplicity is an online file-sharing and mobile collaboration solutions provider. EMC will retain a stake in Syncplicity.
Nintex, a portfolio company of TA Associates, has acquired Drawloop Technologies Inc. No financial terms were disclosed. Based in Irvine, California, Drawloop helps businesses and people automate document creation.
Lone Star has sold Alliance Hotel Group to LFPI. No financial terms were disclosed. Alliance Hotel Group comprises 12 hotels.
Stakeholder Midstream has launched with a $250 million commitment from EnCap Flatrock Midstream. Based in San Antonio, Texas, Stakeholder is a midstream solutions provider. Robert F. Liddell and Gaylon E. Gray are leading the company as CEO and COO respectively.
Falfurrias Capital Partners has acquired a controlling stake in RegEd from StoneRiver Group L.P. No financial terms were disclosed. SunTrust Robinson Humphrey served as financial advisor to RegEd on the transaction. Based in Morrisville, North Carolina, RegEd is a provider of compliance software and solutions for the financial services sector.
