Clearview has sold its controlling stake in Battenfeld to Smith & Wesson for $130.5 million. Robert W. Baird provided financial advice to Clearview on the transaction. Based in Columbia, Missouri, Battenfeld is a maker of hunting and shooting accesories.

Canadian buyout shop Onex has promoted Matthew Ross and Manish Srivastava to managing director. The appointments become effective January 1, 2015. Prior to joining Onex, Ross worked at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. and DB Capital Partners while Srivastava worked at Greenhill & Co. and J.P. Morgan.
Capital One Bank has hired William Gates as head of syndications. Previously, Gates worked at The Royal Bank of Scotland where he served as a managing director.
Ardian has provided 92 million euros in unitranche funding to support Qualium Investissement's buy of IMV Technologies. Based in France, IMV provides animal reproduction biotechnology.
Buildings material company CRH has agreed to sell its UK-based concrete and clay businesses as well as its U.S.-based clay business to Bain Capital for 522 million euros. Among the businesses being sold are Ibstock and Glen Gery. As a result of the transaction, Bain will assume some of the debt related to the divested businesses.
Aquiline Capital Partners has agreed to acquire Denver-based mortgage services provider LenderLive. No financial terms were disclosed.
Palo Alto, Calif.-based online survey platform SurveyMonkey has secured $250 million in funding. The investors included T. Rowe Price Associates, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Baillie Gifford & Co, Tiger Global Management, ICONIQ Capital, Google Capital, Social+Capital Partnership and Laurel Crown Partners. Allen & Co. was financial advisor on the transaction.
Tailwater Capital has closed its third fund at a hard cap of $650 million. The pool will focus on domestic energy firms. Capstone Partners was the placement agent.
