Avesta beefs up team with two new hires

Avesta, a real estate investment and management firm focused on multifamily apartment homes, has hired Gary Garcia II as director of investor relations and Tara McCoy-Jeffers as director of accounting. Previously, Garcia worked at Morgan Stanley where he advised high-net-worth clients and business owners while Jeffers was a director at AIG Global Real Estate in New York City.


TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Avesta, a fully integrated owner-operator specializing in multifamily apartment homes, is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its leadership team with two recent hires: Gary Garcia II, Director of Investor Relations and Tara McCoy-Jeffers, Director of Accounting.

Garcia is responsible for overseeing all aspects of investor communications and managing corporate-relationships with investors. He previously served various roles in the financial services industry, most recently advising high-net worth-clients and business owners at Morgan Stanley. Garcia received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University, where he also played football for the Crimson. Garcia has served in several leadership roles across the Tampa Bay community, including serving as past president of the Harvard Alumni Club of Tampa Bay and treasurer for Quantum Leap Farm, a non-profit therapy-based program for children and adults with mental and emotional disabilities. “I’m thrilled to join the mission of Avesta and lead the service efforts to our investors,” says Gary.

Jeffers will be instrumental in all reporting to joint venture partners. She previously served as director at AIG Global Real Estate in New York City where she oversaw the accounting for a diverse multi-billion dollar portfolio of direct investments and joint ventures. Her experience covers various global real estate assets, including multifamily, senior housing, residential, industrial, and office buildings.
