Avira Opens SF Office, Launches Security Ventures Fund

Avira Security Ventures, also known as the Freemium Fund, is launching a $10 million seed-stage investment fund to back companies focused on security, privacy, and identity protection technologies. On January 25th, the German security company, Avira (http://www.avira.com), will be opening a U.S. office in San Francisco that will also be the home of Avira Security Ventures (ASV), which is launching on the same day.

Avira Security Ventures (also known as the Freemium Fund) is a $10 Million seed-stage investment fund focused on security, privacy, and identity protection technologies that benefit the consumer and SMB markets, with an emphasis on mobile and Consumer Web.
