PRESS RELEASE
Baird Capital, the direct private investment arm of Robert W. Baird & Co., announced today that its U.S. Private Equity group has made a significant investment in Denver-based Workforce Insight, a leading global provider of strategic workforce management consulting, analytics and managed services.
Workforce Insight has helped over 225 customers, including 12 Fortune 100 organizations experience significant productivity improvements by aligning labor with business demand and supporting compliance with government regulations and labor contracts. The company leverages technology, analytics tools, and market leading process expertise to achieve financial benefits totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.
Angela Selden, an advisor at Baird Capital, will become CEO at Workforce Insight and both founders will remain with the company. Steve Goldman will become President, and Don Giffels will remain as Vice President of Healthcare Solutions.
“It is remarkable how Workforce Insight, in a few short years, has become the market leader it is today, delivering substantial labor savings to some of the world’s largest and most well-known retailers, healthcare providers, manufacturers, and public institutions,” said Selden. “This investment will accelerate Workforce Insight’s service offering growth, fund analytics solution expansion, and provide access to Baird Capital’s global network of resources, leading to even more value creation for customers.”
“We are thrilled at the opportunity this partnership with Baird Capital will provide our employees and customers,” said Goldman. “This investment means we will be able to provide even more innovative platforms and services and expand the geographies we serve, while creating financial growth and streamlining operations. We look forward to working closely with Angie and the rest of the Baird Capital team to help our customers transform their businesses and improve financial health.”
Selden joins Workforce Insight with more than 25 years of experience in technology-enabled consulting, managed services and business process outsourcing. Prior to her work with Baird Capital, she served as CEO and Co-Chairman of Arise Virtual Solutions, a global crowdsourcing call center company that became the market leader, expanding globally and increasing revenue 10x in six years. Before joining Arise, Selden spent 18 years at Accenture, a $29 billion global consulting, technology and outsourcing company. Her leadership in the North America Consumer and Industrial Products Group caused revenues to double in three years, primarily driven by an expanded focus on business process outsourcing.
Randy Mehl, Partner with Baird Capital’s U.S. Private Equity group, will join the Workforce Insight Board of Directors. Mehl’s deep expertise and leadership in the human capital management industry spans nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Baird Capital in 2005, he was an award-winning senior analyst in Baird’s equity research department, being recognized by The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Starmine and Institutional Investor for his coverage of the space.
“Technology and data analytics are creating new opportunities for employers to drive higher productivity,” said Mehl. “Workforce Insight has become an innovator in workforce management, and with additional investments in talent and analytics can become the clear market leader. We are thrilled to partner up with the Workforce Insight team.”
