Baird taps Sanders for MD

Baird has appointed Chase Sanders as a managing director on its technology and services team. Recently, Sanders worked at Signal Hill where he served as a partner and managing director.

WASHINGTON, July 6, 2015 – Baird, an employee-owned, international financial services firm, today announced that Chase Sanders has joined the firm’s Global Investment Banking business as a Managing Director on its Technology & Services team. Sanders will help expand Baird’s existing Technology investment banking practice, focusing specifically on enterprise software, SaaS and healthcare IT. He will be based out of Baird’s Washington, D.C. office.

Sanders joins Baird from Signal Hill, a boutique investment bank focused on growth stage IT companies, where he was a partner and Managing Director. Prior to that, he spent five years as the CEO of Atlantis LLC, a consumer home services company that he took from start-up to operations in eight states before successfully exiting the business. Sanders began his career as a corporate and M&A attorney before moving to investment banking where he held positions at Bank of America Securities and Bear Stearns. He received a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia, a Masters degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and a JD cum laude from Harvard Law School.

“We are very pleased that Chase has decided to continue his career at Baird,” said Peter Kies, Head of Baird’s Global Technology & Services Investment Banking group. “With an incredibly strong background and deep transaction experience, he will be a great addition to our team as we continue to invest in and expand our capabilities in the Technology sector.”

Baird continues to grow its Technology platform. In February, Baird added Mike Magluilo as a Managing Director to focus on Technology. Currently, the firm’s comprehensive Technology & Services platform includes:
• More than 50 investment bankers in a Technology & Services group who completed nearly 100 M&A transactions and 60 equity underwritings between 2010 and 2014;
• 9 Equity Research teams, including 24 analysts, covering more than 230 companies for $4.1 trillion in total market cap;
• A dedicated Technology & Services Sales & Trading team that works with sector-focused funds across North America and Europe and makes a market in more than 500 stocks; and
• Baird’s Business Solutions and Growth Stock conferences, which attracted nearly 2,000 attendees and included more than 4,100 one-on-one meetings with public and private institutional investors in 2015.
