BHP Group has started talks with Wyloo Metals, an affiliate of Australian private investment firm Tattarang, about the takeover of Noront Resources as both try to acquire the Toronto-based nickel producer, Reuters reported. Last month, BHP increased its offer for the company to about C$419 million, surpassing Wyloo’s bid. Noront operates in North Ontario’s Ring of Fire.
