Blackstone’s Service King buys Washington locations of Kirmac Collision

Kirmac Automotive Collision Systems Inc has sold its Washington State operations to U.S.-based Service King Collision Centers for an undisclosed amount. Service King, which in July agreed to be acquired by U.S. private equity firm Blackstone Group, picked up 12 locations capable of servicing 2,500 vehicles per month. The deal was closed in November 2014. Kirmac is a family owned and operated collision repair company based in Coquitlam, British Columbia. It said it plans to significantly increase its presence and service offering in the province.

Kirmac Collision to Expand Operations in British Columbia Market Following Sale of U.S. Locations

COQUITLAM, BRITISH COLUMBIA, December 3, 2014 – Following the recent sale of its 12 locations in Washington State to US industry consolidator, Service King Collision Centers, Kirmac Collision plans to significantly increase its presence and industry leading collision repair service offering throughout British Columbia.

Kirmac Collision currently operates 12 collision and autoglass service repair locations throughout the Lower Mainland. In March 2015, Kirmac Collision will open its 13th location in Maple Kirmac Collision ServicesRidge.

“Over the next five years, our goal is to double the size of our BC operations,” said Ian McIntosh, Founder and CEO of Kirmac Collision. “We believe there is tremendous potential in this market to continue expanding our business around the Lower Mainland and into other regions of the province.”

Based in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Kirmac Collision Services is a family owned and operated collision repair company originally founded in 1973 by Ian McIntosh. In 2000, Kirmac expanded its platform into Washington State becoming a major player in that market and opening a total of 12 locations before being acquired by Dallas Texas-based Service King in November 2014.

Kirmac Collision is also proud to support the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation through its Kirmac Cares for Kids charitable program. Since 2011, Kirmac has donated over $600,000 to the Foundation and is helping to make a difference in the care provided to children at BC Children’s Hospital.
