Bluebox, the recently launched advisory business that prepares businesses for sale using a highly structured “pre-sale planning programme”, has strengthened its team with the appointment of Sam Archer, as corporate executive. Sam joins from Bridges Ventures.
Sam comments: “With an estimated 70 per cent of business sales collapsing before they reach legal completion, the corporate finance market needs an offering to address this worrying trend. I was really impressed with the Bluebox proposition which actually identifies the root causes of businesses failing to sell and focuses business owners on the importance of pre-sale planning. Planning plays an essential part in enhancing value and improving the likely chances of a successful sale.”
Paul Herman, Group CEO of Bluebox comments: “Sam has a wealth of experience working with management teams, identifying value-enhancing strategies and preparing businesses for exit. Having spent eight years in private equity he will undoubtedly add significant value to our pre-sale planning offering. He clearly recognizes the importance of business owners focusing on enhancing capital value rather than just increasing profitability.”
Before joining Bluebox, Sam was a senior investment manager at Bridges Ventures where he spent eight years working closely with businesses across different sectors and working with management teams to support their growth strategies in the run up to an exit. Sam originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in London.
Bluebox was founded in June by group CEO Paul Herman and James Caan, the former star of BBC’s Dragon’s Den. In his career spanning over 20 years in corporate finance, Paul has sold in sold in excess of 50 businesses with a total value of £800 million as a corporate adviser. Combining Paul’s experience in corporate sales together with James’ experience in managing and growing businesses, the team has a formidable track record.
The Bluebox Pre-sale planning programme, the centerpiece of the Group’s offering, has been carefully designed in consultation with a number of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs. Bluebox have some of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs sitting on the advisory Board. The programme comprises six distinct phases and is sold to business owners who may be contemplating an exit in the next 3 years.
