Conor Boden has joined Advent International as head of portfolio board development, a newly-created position focused on extending Advent's operating partner program. Boden has spent the past nine years with 3i Group.
Advent International, the global private equity firm, today announced that Conor Boden has joined the firm from 3i to take up the newly-created role of Head of Portfolio Board Development.
As Head of Portfolio Board Development, Conor's main focus will be on extending Advent's existing operating partner programme. Experienced industrialists, operating partners work with Advent in a variety of ways including helping to identify and transact deals as well as contributing to the strategic and operational development of portfolio companies. Conor will also be responsible for setting up and managing a broader network of chairmen, nonexecutive directors and CEOs. Conor will be based in
Before joining Advent, Conor spent nine years at 3i where he was latterly responsible for the development and management of a group of executive chairmen and industrialists for 3i's European buyout business. Earlier he headed the firm's CEO programme. Prior to working at 3i, Conor held senior marketing positions at Andersen, Linklaters and Mercer Management Consulting.
The use of operating partners is a fundamental, long-established and successful element of Advent's highly operational approach to investing. The programme currently includes circa 50 high-level industrialists, many of whom have been involved in multiple Advent investments.
