NewOak hired Jonna Boyle as a director in its credit services division. Boyle will join the firm’s regulatory and compliance team in Dallas. She was previously the president and founder of Iron Compliance LLC, a boutique consulting firm.
New York – February 29, 2016 – NewOak announced the appointment of Jonna Boyle as a director in its Credit Services LLC, a consultancy that specializes in providing credit and regulatory compliance solutions for commercial and consumer loan products. Boyle brings more than 14 years of compliance management experience in the financial services industry, primarily in auto finance. Her expertise spans areas such as compliance audit, complaint management, compliance risk, policies and procedures and regulatory affairs at both the state and federal level. She is based in NewOak’s Dallas, Texas office to address the needs coming out of that critical market.
“I am delighted to join NewOak’s Regulatory and Compliance team,” said Boyle. “The firm has long been recognized as a leader in credit-related issues with a dynamic infrastructure and the technology needed to provide true comprehensive support to clients in today’s regulatory environment. With NewOak’s specialized resources and analytical capabilities, I am certain we will be able to define programs that address regulatory changes more effectively than ever.”
“We’re very excited to have Jonna join our best-in-class team,” said Chad Burhance, Group CEO. He continued, “Since the financial crisis, markets have been characterized by higher credit standards. With this shift comes strict regulations that even the most diligent companies find challenging to comply with given the complexities of their businesses. The auto finance industry, like the mortgage industry, has been especially hard hit with regulatory hurdles. With a deep and diverse bench of in-house credit and compliance practitioners, NewOak has the subject matter expertise to support a number of key players within consumer finance,” said Burhance.
Andrea Bryan, Managing Director and head of the Group’s Regulatory Compliance team, added, “Jonna has built an impressive reputation within the auto sector, from both a strategic and operational perspective. We look forward to incorporating her expertise with the rest of our team to deliver even more robust solutions for our clients.”
At NewOak, Boyle will provide compliance consulting services to lenders engaged in direct and indirect auto finance, firms providing capital to those lenders, and buyers of bulk portfolios. She will assist with the development and implementation of compliance management systems and conduct independent audits to assess compliance risk in areas including ECOA, TILA, SCRA, FCRA, FDCPA, UDAAP and state regulations.
Prior to NewOak, Boyle was President and Founder of Iron Compliance, LLC, a boutique consulting firm geared toward finance companies engaged in auto lending, leasing, and loan servicing. There, she designed and implemented compliance management systems, performed independent audits and provided ongoing research, documentation review and operational support to mitigate clients’ compliance deficiencies.
From 2012 to 2014, Boyle served as the Senior Vice President of Compliance at SFG Finance, LLC where she built a compliance management system to ensure that the acquisition and servicing of auto loan portfolios met regulatory requirements and industry best practices. She also advised the parent bank of compliance issues and regulatory changes specific to all aspects of originations and loan servicing. Boyle previously headed the compliance departments at Santander Consumer USA Inc. and Triad Financial Corporation.
Boyle earned the prestigious Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification through the Institute of Certified Bankers in 2013. She also served on the board of the National Automotive Finance Association from 2012 to 2014.
