- Partner Anthony Choe left last year
- Not clear exactly when and why he left firm
- Not listed on new marketing docs
Brentwood Associates Partner Anthony Choe left the firm last year, two sources confirmed for Buyouts.
It’s not clear exactly when and why Choe left Brentwood. He is no longer listed on the website. Choe was last listed on Brentwood’s website in October, an archived version of the site shows.
One LP source said Choe was not listed on marketing documents for Brentwood’s sixth fund, which has been in market since last year targeting $750 million. That fund is expected to collect $1 billion, a separate source recently told Buyouts.
Partner Bill Barnum did not return a request for comment. A LinkedIn request to Choe was unanswered. Choe has not yet updated his LinkedIn profile.
Veteran partners sometimes leave firms ahead of fundraises rather than commit to another 10-year fund.
Choe joined Brentwood in 1996 and served on the boards of K-Mac Holdings, Pacific Catch, Sundance Holding and Teaching Co, an archived version of Brentwood’s website shows.
Prior to Brentwood, Choe focused on M&A and leveraged buyouts at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, the archived site said.
Brentwood’s partner group includes Barnum, Roger Goddu, Steven Moore, Eric Reiter and Rahul Aggarwal.
