Brookfield Asset Management is in advanced talks to form a joint venture with Scion Group to acquire at least $1 billion in student-housing properties, Bloomberg reported.

Brookfield Asset Management is in advanced talks to form a joint venture with Scion Group to acquire at least $1 billion in student-housing properties, Bloomberg reported. The deal will mark the Canadian alternative asset manager’s first US bet on the sector. Scion operates a portfolio of 58,700 beds in 29 states, near campuses including the University of South Carolina, Arizona State University and the University of Texas at Austin.
