Robert Reid, a senior managing director who spent a few years helping run Blackstone Group’s London office, has left the firm after more than two decades, Buyouts understands.

Reid left the firm earlier this month. He is pursuing other opportunities, Reid told Buyouts in a brief interview.

Reid joined Blackstone in 1998. He was made senior managing director at Blackstone in 2010. He was tasked with leading the London office in 2012 along with then newly appointed Europe chief Lionel Assant, the firm said at the time.

Reid worked on some of Blackstone’s most high-profile investments, including in Adelphia Communications, Centennial Communications, Charter Communications, Crowley Digital (Salmon PCS), Extended Stay America, FiberNet, Hilton Hotels, PaeTec, Scout24 and The Nielsen Company, according to an archived version of the firm’s website.

Prior to Blackstone, Reid worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.
