Chart of the Week: Apollo Hits 52 Week High After Posting 4Q Earnings; Carlyle Group Earnings Down

Their shares are close to 52-week highs and are trading above where they started 2013. Apollo Global Management hit a 52-week high of $23.95 after it reported earnings on Feb. 8. Apollo’s performance was aided by the sale of its stake in both LyondellBasell Industries NV and Charter Communications Inc. Unlike some of its peers that reported improved fourth quarter earnings, Carlyle Group’s earnings fell 28 percent from a year earlier. Carlyle’s stock closed Feb. 21 at $33.80, down from its $36.67 closing price the day before it reported financial results. (For a larger version of the chart, click the link at right.)
