Chart of the Week: Technology Was Most Active Sector For Dividend Recap Issuance In 2012 At $2.16B

The category issued $2.16 billion, which represents an estimated 24.7 percent share of the mid-market’s total issuance of $8.74 billion. Technology accounted for four of the top 10 dividend recaps in 2012, including the $430 million dividend paid by Court Square Capital Partners-backed Rocket Software in February. It ranked second behind the $460 million loan by Berkshire Partners’s Grocery Outlet Inc. in November, which is in the Retail & Supermarkets group.
