LaCrosse leaves Centinela Capital

Jonathan LaCrosse has quietly left Centinela Capital Partners, where he had been a founding partner. No word yet on where he’s headed.

Prior to joining Centinela, LaCrosse had founded JDL Alternative Investment Consulting. Before that, he oversaw private equity investing for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, where he helped invest more than $3 billion into 121 different funds.

Centinela is a New York-based alternative asset manager, which provides a portfolio of discretionary services. Most notably, the firm manages the Capital Link program for California Public Employees’ Retirement System, which serves as a fund of funds for emerging managers.

Adveq woos Wong

Darren Wong has joined fund of funds manager Adveq as a managing director in its Beijing office. He previously oversaw venture capital and Asia investing for HRJ Capital.

Bonsal follows in son’s footsteps

Frank Bonsal Jr., co-founder of New Enterprise Associates, has joined New Markets Venture Partners as a special partner. His son, Frank Bonsal III, has been with New Markets as a partner for more than a year.

College Park, Md.-based New Markets invests in the IT, education and health care sectors. Its first fund, raised in 2003, was capped at $25 million, and it recently held a $20 million close on a second fund that’s targeting $40 million.

Braemar Energy adds EIR

Scott DePasquale has joined the Boston office of Braemar Energy Ventures as a principal and executive in residence. He previously was a senior vice president with GE Energy Financial Services, where he led the group’s Boston-based VC activities.

Star loses partner

Limor Radoshitzky has left Israeli venture capital firm Star Ventures, where she had been a partner and chief financial officer. She had been with the firm since 1997. No word yet on her future plans.

McCarthy hires Emmert

Robert Emmert has joined McCarthy Capital as a partner, and head of the Omaha, Neb.-based firm’s Boston office. Emmert previously was a general partner with Alta Communications.

Caisse taps Tessier as chairman

Robert Tessier has been named chairman of Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, the largest pension system in Canada. Tessier is the former CEO of gas distributor Gaz Metro.

Boneparth heads to Irving Place

Peter Boneparth has joined Irving Place Capital (f.k.a. Bear Stearns Merchant Banking) as a senior advisor, with a focus on the retail and consumer sectors. Boneparth is the former CEO of Jones Apparel Group.

Sharma departs MDV

Rohit Sharma has left Mohr Davidow Ventures, where he had been a principal since 2006. No word yet on his future plans.

Pathé now on secondary path

Eric Pathé has joined U.K.-based secondaries firm Greenpark Capital as an investment director. He previously was with mid-market buyout firm Langholm Capital.
