Foresight expands solar team

UK private equity and sustainable energy investor Foresight Group has appointed Diomidis Dorkofikis as investment manager.

Based in the firm’s Rome office, Dorkofikis will be responsible for identifying new investment opportunities and managing Foresight’s existing solar portfolio.

The newly appointed investment manager is a specialist in project financing and the renewable energy sector. He joins Foresight from Millennium Bank in Greece where he was a project finance analyst in the corporate and investment banking department.

Before Millennium, he worked in the loans and syndication department of Alpha Bank and was previously an equity analyst in the research department of Seattle-headquartered National Securities.

Manager of Foresight’s solar fund, Jamie Richards said: “We continue to see a strong deal flow across our core regions of Italy, Spain and Greece, and this is supported by increasing institutional investor appetite for solar infrastructure. Diomidis brings experience in funding and managing renewable energy projects in Greece and a strong network of contacts.”

Foresight launched a €33m solar fund in May 2008 and has since made three investments in projects in Spain and Italy.
