Greenhill Cogent loses VP in London office

  • Andrei Brougham joined Greenhill Cogent in 2009
  • Brougham left in November
  • Not clear if he is taking a job elsewhere

Andrei Brougham, a vice president with Greenhill Cogent, has quietly left the firm, according to a source.

Brougham’s LinkedIn profile said he worked at Greenhill Cogent from July 2009 to November 2015. He started as an analyst and left as a vice president, LinkedIn said.

A person who answered the phone at Greenhill Cogent’s London office said Brougham no longer works there.

It’s not clear why Brougham left or if he is taking a job elsewhere. Jeff Taufield, a spokesman for Greenhill Cogent, declined to comment.

Greenhill Cogent, previously known as Cogent Partners, was acquired by Greenhill & Co last year, prior to which it operated as an independent firm. Greenhill Cogent helps arrange the sale of large private equity portfolios and works with general partners on restructrurings and fund recapitalizations.

Last year, Greenhill Cogent won the contract from the New York City Comptroller to help arrange the sale of a portfolio of private equity interests. That process remains ongoing, sources said. It’s not clear when a portfolio from the city’s retirement system will come to market.
