Hicks Muse Staffs Up in Europe

As it gears up to launch its first dedicated European fund in the second quarter, Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Inc. has added two principals to its London office, which is headed by chief operating officer John Muse. Both Lyndon Lea and Philippe von Stauffenberg have experience in European private equity.

Lyndon Lea joins Hicks Muse after eight years as an associate at Glenisla, the former European affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. Previously, Lyndon Lea spent two years as an investment banking associate at Schroders in New York and also worked as an M&A analyst for Goldman Sachs & Co.

Philippe von Stauffenberg began his career as a consultant for Bain & Co in Munich before moving to E.M. Warburg Pincus & Co in London, where he worked as an associate for four years. He also brings first-hand entrepreneurial experience to his new role; after leaving Warburg, Pincus, he acquired a majority holding in Heitmann International, a multilingual technical publishing group, that he managed as chairman for three years and then sold.

John Muse said the “relevant and extensive” experience of Lyndon Lea and Philippe von Stauffenberg “will be invaluable to the process of establishing a European presence for Hicks Muse”.
