Louisiana Teachers back J.F. Lehman, Insight Partners funds

Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana at its November meeting committed $125 million to private equity funds from J.F. Lehman & Company and Insight Partners, according to Lisa Honoré, the system’s executive liaison officer.

The system invested up to $50 million to JFL Equity Investors V. The fund is targeting $1 billion and focuses on the industrials and transportation sectors in North America and Europe, according to sister site Private Equity International (PEI).

J.F. Lehman & Company’s fifth fund also received a $30 million commitment from Arkansas Teacher Retirement System in 2019, according to PEI data.

Louisiana Teachers pledged up to $75 million to Insight Partners XI, Honore said. The fund is targeting $7.25 billion and will invest between $10 million and $150 million to companies, PEI previously reported.

Insight’s Fund IX closed at $5 billion in 2015 and its tenth fund had a final close of $6.3 billion in 2018, Insight Partners XI reflects a 45 percent and a 15 percent increase, respectively, from the previous two funds.

Private equity/venture makes up 16 percent of Louisiana’s portfolio, surpassing its 14 percent target, as of July 31.
