Apposite Capital said Oct. 9 that Rory Pope was named a partner and member of the management board. Pope has been working with Apposite as a full-time consultant since March. Apposite also appointed Alexander Cunynghame as an investment executive.

Arsenal Capital Partners named Patricia Grad a senior managing director and head of investor relations. Previously, she worked at Actis where she was director in the investor development group.

Hatboro, Pennsylvania-based Azzur Group, a private equity firm focused on the life sciences consulting industry, appointed Anthony López as CEO and managing director and hired Hasanna Birdsong as director of sales and marketing. Previously, López worked at Ansell Healthcare where he was president and general manager of the medical solutions global business unit. Birdsong has more than 10 years of experience in telecom, advertising, marketing, finance and the pharmaceutical services industries.

Blueprint Capital Advisors LLC hired John McAvoy as a partner. Previously, McAvoy was president of Asset Management Finance, a subsidiary of Credit Suisse.

Alex Stirling left Carlyle Group to join Centerbridge PartnersPrivate Equity News reported. Stirling joined Centerbridge as one of five senior managing directors based in the firm’s London office, the story said. Sterling, a senior dealmaker, left after a decade at Carlyle, the story said.

The Carlyle Group named Idris Mohammed as managing director on the firm’s Sub-Saharan African fund team. The appointment is effective immediately. His work background includes roles at DPI and Goldman Sachs.

Cowen Investment Management LLC hired Elizabeth Flisser Rosman as managing director and head of strategy. Previously, Rosman worked at Reservoir Capital Group where she led new hedge fund manager development efforts.

Fengate Real Asset Investments appointed Greg Calhoun as director of infrastructure US. Previously, Calhoun worked at BayernSB where he was a senior director.

Frazier Healthcare Partners named Mark Barrett as an entrepreneur-in-residence. Previously, Barrett worked at Sanofi Genzyme where he served as global head of strategy and business development.

Gryphon Investors named Wes W. Lucas as a partner. Previously, Lucas was a CEO and board member of SIRVA.

LaSalle Investment Management hired Michael Cornelissen as senior vice president of acquisitions for its Canada business. His appointment becomes effective October 2. Previously, he worked at Forgestone Capital where he was vice president of acquisitions.

Meketa Investment Group said Sept. 28 that Paola Nealon joined the firm as a senior vice president. Nealon was previously an investment officer at Oregon State Treasury.

Peak Rock Capital expanded its team with six new hires. Joining the middle-market private equity firm are Sean Colligan as principal; Ralph DeBernardo as principal and head of investor relations; Yunus Jaffrey and Preston Thomas as vice president; Toby Stoops as senior vice president of business development; and Brendan Wolf as associate.

Provasi Capital Partners LP hired John Guthery as managing director of product and marketing. Previously, Guthery was senior vice president and head of W. P. Carey‘s product management division.

Redpoint Capital Group named Daniel Adashek as a portfolio manager. Previously, Adashek worked for the Stark Family Office where he was a portfolio manager.

SK Capital Partners said Oct. 3 that Edward Donkor joined as a principal. Simon Dowker joined as director of business development. Donkor was previously a principal at Pine Brook Partners, while Dowker formerly worked as a managing director at PJT Partners.

Strathspey Crown, a lifestyle healthcare-focused growth equity firm, named Dr. Richard Afable as a senior adviser. He is the ex-CEO of St. Joseph Hoag Health and the former executive vice president of Providence St. Joseph Health Southern California Region.

Boston-based TA Realty LLC, a real estate investment manager, appointed Devin C. Sullivan as director of investor relations. Previously, Sullivan was director of institutional services at Intercontinental Real Estate Corp.

Validus Group Partners Ltd appointed Richard A. Mocsari as chief financial officer. Mocsari is the former CFO of GulfShore Bank.

White Oak Capital Advisors LLC appointed John Felix as managing director and co-head of originations. Recently, he founded Consortium Finance and prior to that, worked at the D.E. Shaw Group.

WhiteHorse Capital, a direct lending affiliate of H.I.G. Capital, named Daniel Dubé as a principal. Previously, he was a director at THL Credit in the Los Angeles office.

Abaco Systems, which is backed by Veritas Capital, named Rich Sorelle as CEO. The appointment is effective immediately. Previously, Sorelle worked at ITT/Exelis where he most recently worked as president of the electronic systems division. Based in Huntsville, Alabama and the UK, Abaco is a provider of rugged, embedded mission-ready systems.

Alliance Physical Therapy Partners, which is backed by GPB Capital, named Mark Andrzejewski as CEO. Previously, he worked at Minimally Invasive Surgical Institute where he was president and chief operations officer. Based in Tampa, Florida, Alliance PT provides professional, administrative and financial support to physical therapy practices.

CSDC, which is backed by Austin-based private equity firm BuildGroup, named Erin Mulligan Nelson as CEO and Brian Thomson as chief financial officer. Previously, Nelson worked at SunPower where she was executive vice president and chief marketing officer while Thomson was CFO at Kinnser Software. CSDC helps governments automate the services they provide to citizens.

ID Experts, a provider of identity protection and data breach services, appointed Thomas F. Kelly as president and CEO. Previously, Kelly was CEO of AccelOps. ID Experts is backed by Peloton Equity, Trident Capital Cybersecurity and BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners (Sandbox Industries).

Merit Service Solutions, a portfolio company of Eureka Growth Capital, named Harry J. Carpenter to its board of directors. Carpenter recently was the president of Brightview Corp’s landscape maintenance division. Merit is a provider of outsourced exterior facilities management services.

Matthew Hawkins has been named CEO of the newly merged healthcare revenue cycle management companies Navicure and ZirMed. Previously, he worked at Sunquest Information Systems. Navicure is a portfolio company of Bain Capital Private Equity while ZirMed was backed by Sequoia Capital.

Shanghai-based Oriental DreamWorks, a film production company, named Peilin Chou as chief creative officer. Previously, Chou was head of creative. ODW is backed by DreamWorks Animation, CMC Capital Partners, Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Alliance Investment Limited.

Power Partners, a portfolio company of OpenGate Capital, named Koben Miceli as CEO. The appointment is effective immediately. Previously, Miceli worked at Dematic Corporation where he most recently was executive vice president of global operations. Based in Athens, Georgia, Power Partners is a maker of distribution transformers.

Amherst Partners hired Thomas McCabe as a managing director in the restructuring advisory practice. Previously, he worked at KPMG Corporate Finance.

Brookline Capital Markets expanded its healthcare investment banking services team with five new hires. Joining the company are Dr. Kumar Raja as senior biotechnology analyst; Graham A. Powis as senior capital markets adviser; Dr. Samuel P. Wertheimer as senior scientific adviser; Michael D. Rhea as managing director of institutional sales; and Joseph A. LaSala as senior associate of investment banking.

Law firm Day Pitney LLC is expanding its private equity, finance and investment management practices by adding two new partners: Peter J. Bilfield and Steven M. Gold. Both are joining Day Pitney from Shipman & Goodwin LLP.

Global law firm Dechert LLP added corporate partner Christopher Field and tax partner Jane Scobie to its London office. Field’s practice focuses on private equity and M&A while Scobie’s practice focuses on tax aspects of commercial transactions, including private equity and M&A. Previously, both worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in London where they were partners.

Financial Technology Partners, a fintech-focused investment bank, named Paul VanderMarck as a managing director. VanderMarck is a former senior executive and ex-head of product and global strategy at Risk Management Solutions.

Placement agent FirstPoint Equity named Craig Lewis as a managing director. Lewis is the former director of private markets and real assets at Alfred I. duPont Testamentary Trust. And prior to that, he was investment manager within the private markets group at Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Salt Lake City-based Health Catalyst, a provider of healthcare analytics and solutions that improve outcomes, appointed Patrick Nelli as chief financial officer. Prior to joining Health Catalyst, Nelli was a private equity associate in the healthcare group at GTCR.

The Latin American Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (Lavca) said in a statement that it was naming Carlos Garcia, a managing partner at Buenos Aires-based Victoria Capital Partners LP, as its new chairman.

LionTree LLC, an investment and merchant banking firm focused on media, technology and telecommunications, named Ursula Burns as an executive-in-residence. Burns is the former CEO of Xerox.

MUFG Investor Services, the global asset servicing arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, named Ben Griffiths as managing director and global head of fund financing. Previously, Griffiths was managing director and CEO of Citco Financial Products, a subsidiary of Citco Group.

Nehemia Zucker, the CEO of j2 Global Inc, will be leaving his post to become co-managing principal at OCV Management, a Los Angeles-based investment adviser co-founded by Richard Ressler, j2’s board chairman. Zucker’s appointment becomes effective January 1, 2018. Vivek Shah will succeed Zucker as CEO of j2.

Overseas Private Investment Corp, the federal government’s development finance arm, named Ryan Brennan as vice president of the office of investment policy. Previously, Brennan was managing director at Advantage Capital, which he joined in 1999.

Boutique investment bank PJT Partners Inc added another former Morgan Stanley managing director, Michel Antakly, to its growing stable of senior advisers in London.

Raymond James named Geoffrey Richards as a managing director in its investment banking unit. In his new role, Richards will head both the private capital solutions group and the recapitalization and restructuring group. Previously, Richards worked at Canaccord Genuity where he was head of North America debt finance and restructuring.

SEI, a provider of investment processing, investment management and investment operations solutions, appointed David Hintz as U.S. equity portfolio manager. Hintz’s work background includes a stint at Russell Investments.

SierraConstellation Partners LLC, an interim management and adviser to middle-market companies in transition, hired John Farrace as a managing director in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Previously, Farrace was a managing director and group head in CIT Group’s commercial finance unit and was head of corporate banking at OneWest Bank prior to its acquisition by CIT Group Inc.

Drugstore chain Rite Aid Corp named Kermit Crawford as president and chief operating officer. His appointment becomes effective Oct. 5, 2017. Previously, Crawford was a retail and healthcare adviser and consultant for Sycamore Partners.

Webster Bank hired Ross Catlin as managing director and senior relationship manager for the commercial bank’s sponsor and specialty finance group. In this role, Catlin will be responsible for originating and executing senior financing for private equity sponsors and middle-market companies. Previously, Catlin worked at Natixis US where he was a managing director of sponsor origination.

Investment bank and brokerage firm Ziegler named Allen Hassan as a managing director and head of preferred stock trading. His work background includes starting and leading the preferred desk at BTIG.

The California State Teachers’ Retirement System said it would support the nomination of Nelson Peltz, chief executive of Trian Fund Management, to the board of directors at Procter & Gamble Co.

PROMOTIONS

GTCR promoted John Kos and Jeff Heh to principal. Kos joined the Chicago-based private equity firm in 2006 as an associate while Heh came on board as a vice president in 2013.

Marcus Investments LLC promoted Christopher Nolte to president. Nolte joined the Midwest-based investment firm in 2006.
