PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Angelo Gordon & Co has named Jenny Morton as managing director and head of consultant relations. Previously, Morton worked at the Man Group in London as managing director and global head of consultant relations.

Apposite Capital has appointed Anne-Laure Meynier as investment manager. Meynier was most recently CFO of Nuage Labs, a Paris-based technology startup.

Blackford Capital hired Jeffrey Johnson as managing director. Johnson joined from Gilbert Global Equity Partners, where he was a managing director and a founding member of the firm.

Bridge Growth Partners has hired Daniel Tassé, former chairman and CEO of Ikaria Inc, as a senior advisor. Also, Tassé will join Bridge Growth’s strategic advisory board.

CBO Investment Management has named Gary Steinberg as head of its advisory board and a member of the investment committee. Previously, Steinberg was the chief of the investment unit at the International Monetary Fund.

Comvest Capital, the direct lending group of Comvest Partners, has named Colleen Gurda as a vice president. Previously, Gurda worked at BNY Mellon subsidiary Alcentra Capital Corp.

DDJ Capital Management has hired Michael Weissenburger as managing director and head of origination. Previously, Weissenburger worked at Wells Fargo Capital Finance as director of direct loan origination.

Flexpoint Ford has named Alex Saporito as managing director at its New York office. Previously, Saporito worked at Morgan Stanley where he served as managing director and global head of structuring for securitized products.

Genstar Capital has appointed Jeffrey Green to its strategic advisory board. Greene is a former president and CEO of Consolidated Container Corp.

Golub Capital hired Joseph Wilson as a managing director to expand the firm’s distribution capabilities. Wilson will focus on building and managing Golub’s relationships with buyers of leveraged loans and identifying and executing secondary market opportunities, among other things. Prior to Golub, Wilson was a managing director at Citigroup.

High Road Capital Partners has hired Kristin Newhall as partner in charge of investor relations and administration. Newhall previously was a partner at The Riverside Company.

Intervale Capital has named Jason Arnoldy and Patrick Conroy as vice presidents. Previously, Arnoldy co-founded Recapture Solutions, while Conroy worked at Goldman Sachs.

Monroe Capital hired Andy Moser and Marc Price to co-lead the newly established retail and consumer products asset-based lending group. Both joined from Salus Capital Partners, where Moser was president and chief executive officer and Price was executive vice president.

Paladin Capital Group has made a number of appointments to its team. The Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm has named Alex O’ Cinneide as managing director, head of Europe. Also, Paladin has added Professor Sir David Omand, Mary Aiken and Sally Tennant to its strategic advisory group. In addition to these new appointments, the firm is expanding its cyber fund, which backs early-stage tech companies, into Europe.

Shamrock Capital Advisors has named Jason Sklar as a managing director. Previously, Sklar worked at JP Morgan‘s Entertainment Industries Group.

Michael Lazar, co-founder of BlackRock Kelso Capital, and Stanley Friedman, former chief HR officer of Fortress, have joined Star Mountain Capital as senior advisors. Prior to co-founding BlackRock Kelso Capital, Lazar was partner and managing director of Kelso & Co. Friedman previously worked on HR at King Street Capital and Amaranth.

TPG has hired Steve Ellis as managing partner of its global operations group and portfolio business business building. Ellis is the former CEO of Asurion, a provider of mobile device protection services, and worldwide managing director of global managing consulting firm Bain & Company.

Victory Park Capital has appointed Ron Rolighed as a principal. Previously, Rolighed co-founded and was a managing partner of Mira Capital Advisors LLC.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Numet Manufacturing Techniques, a maker of precision metal components and assemblies for jet turbine engines, has named Tim Ulles as president and CEO. Previously, Ulles worked at Chromalloy Gas Turbine Corp as a general manager. Numet is backed by Kidd & Co.

Nylon, which is backed by Diversis Capital LLC, has appointed Melissa Giannini as editor-in-chief. Giannini replaces Michelle Lee. Previously, Giannini was deputy editor at New York-based Nylon.

Austin, Texas-based RealMassive, a provider of commercial real estate data, has named Lynn Atchison and David Mather to its board. Atchison is the chief financial officer of HomeAway Inc, while Mather is a managing partner at Ensys Capital LLC. RealMassive’s backers include RHS Investments, Hurt Family Investments and Capital Factory.

Active Ride Shop, a portfolio company of Tengram Capital Partners, has promoted Jenner Heller to president. Rick Mina, Active’s interim president, is transitioning to the role of a strategic advisor.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Private placement agent First Avenue has opened a new office in Hong Kong. The company has also appointed Michael Henningsen as a partner to lead the new office. Henningsen will also serve as Asia co-head along with Martin Donnelly, a partner who runs First Avenue’s Sydney office. Previously, Henningsen worked at Park Hill Group as a managing director and led that firm’s Hong Kong office.

Institutional Limited Partners Association has named Tanya Carmichael as chair of its board of directors. Carmichael is the director of global funds and private capital at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

Lazard has hired Charles Andrez as a managing director in middle-market advisory. Previously, Andrez worked at Canaccord Genuity.

Wealth advisory firm Schechter Wealth has hired Ira Goldberg as a wealth advisor. Previously, Goldberg worked at Longview Investments as a managing member. 

MISC

HarbourVest Partners promoted Nate Bishop, Carolina Espinal and Aris Hatch to managing director. The fund of funds also promoted seven staffers to principals and one to senior vice president.

Sussex Partners, a U.K.-based advisory firm focused on alternative investments, hired Filippo Montalbano as managing director in its Zurich office.
