PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Atlantic Street Capital has named Grant Marcks as vice president of business development. Previously, Marcks worked at The Riverside Company.

Blackstone has named William J. Burns, a former U.S. ambassador to Russia and Jordan, as senior advisor. Currently, Burns is the president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. In addition to his foreign service posts, Burns has also served as a Deputy Secretary of State and as an Undersecretary for Political Affairs.

Blackstone has appointed Liping Zhang as a senior managing director and its chairman for Greater China. Previously, Zhang worked at Credit Suisse where he recently was co-CEO of Greater China and vice chairman of global investment banking.

The Carlyle Group announced that Jill Wight has joined the firm as a principal in the U.S. middle-market team in a newly created operations role. Wight was previously with Goldman Sachs where she was a director in the Special Situations Group.

Colony Capital has named Christophe G. de Taurines as managing director of European investor relations. Taurines previoulsy founded and was CEO of Capital & Marketing Group.

Frazier Healthcare said that Tadataka Yamada has rejoined the firm as a venture partner on its life sciences team. He will also serve as a senior advisor to the growth buyout team. Before rejoining Frazier, Yamada was chief medical and scientific officer at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in Tokyo.

KKR has named Dominique Lafont as a senior advisor. Lafont is the former president and CEO of Bolloré Africa Logistics.

Napier Park Global Capital said Joseph Lane has joined its private equity group, Napier Park Financial Partners, as a managing director. Lane was previously CEO of GE Technology Finance.

Permira has hired ex-KKR deal-maker Ryotaro Fujii to head its Japan operations, as the European private equity firm chases billion-dollar deals in the world’s third-biggest economy.

PIMCO has hired John Lane as EVP and Global CFO of its alternatives platform. Lane was previously the CFO of private equity and real estate at Apollo Global Management LP.

Pritzker Group Private Capital has named Sean Michael Gillis as a vice president. Gillis previously worked at the company as an associate and senior associate before leaving to pursue an MBA.

Shorehill Capital has hired Ann Brophy as vice president in business development and Ellen Sullivan as office manager. Brophy will be responsible for business development and investment sourcing initiatives. Prior to Shorehill, Brophy worked at Huron Capital and S&P Capital IQ.

Water Street Healthcare Partners has named Paul T. Cottey as chief information officer. Cottey is a former executive partner at Accenture.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Creative Artists Agency, a portfolio company of TPG Capital, has named James Burtson CFO. Burtson most recently served as senior VP of Time Warner Inc.

Delta Risk LLC, which is backed by a group of private equity investors affiliated with The Chertoff Group, has named Scott Kaine CEO. Most recently, Kaine served as president of Cyveillance. San Antonio, Texas-based Delta Risk provides cybersecurity and risk management services to government and private sector clients worldwide.

International Automotive Components Group, a portfolio company of WL Ross & Co, said Robert “Steve” Miller is joining the firm as president, CEO and director, effective August 7. Miller succeeds James Kamsickas, who is stepping down as president, CEO and director to become president and CEO of Dana Holding Corp. 

IT management software provider Kaseya, which is backed by Insight Venture Partners, announced that Fred Voccola has been named CEO and Yogesh Gupta has been elected the new chairman of the board. Voccola was most recently president and general manager of Yodle’s Brand Networks division.

RapidAdvance, which is backed by Rockbridge Growth Equity, has named Will Tumulty as CEO. Tumulty was the president and CEO of Ready Financial Group Inc, which was acquired by Green Dot earlier this year. Based in Bethesda, Maryland, RapidAdvance provides capital for small business.

RentPath LLC, which is backed by TPG and Providence Equity Partners, has named Chip Perry as president and CEO. Perry, who joined RentPath’s board of directors in February, is the former CEO of AutoTrader.com. Based in Atlanta, RentPath is the parent company of Apartment Guide, Rent.com, Rentals.com and Lovely.

Music library Audio Network, which is is backed by Stripes Group, has named Chris Blakeston as CEO. Previously, Blakeston served as COO of the company. Prior to joining Audio Network, Blakeston led Getty Images’ video division across EMEA.

Suwannee Lumber Company LLC, a portfolio company of Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC, has appointed James H. Langdale as CEO. Previously, he was head of Pannon Enterprises and prior to that he spent 20 years at The Langdale Company.

Japanese restaurant chain Wagamama, which is backed by Duke Street, has named Allan Leighton as non-executive chairman. Leighton’s background includes serving as president and CEO of Wal-Mart Europe.

Belcan Corp, an engineering and technical staffing provider backed by AE Industrial Partners, has appointed AEIP Managing Partner David H. Rowe as chairman of its board. Separately, Lance H. Kwasniewski, president of Belcan Engineering, has been tapped to serve as Belcan’s CEO.

Courion Corp, which is backed by K1 Investment Management, has named David Earhart CEO and a member of its board of directors. Earhart previously was SVP of Worldwide Field Operations for Damballa. Courion provides identity governance and administration solutions.

Biotech company Nodality Inc , whose backers include TPG Biotech, has named Kathleen LaPorte CEO. LaPorte has served as Nodality’s chief business officer since July 2014.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Baird has appointed Chase Sanders as a managing director on its technology and services team. Recently, Sanders worked at Signal Hill where he served as a partner and managing director.

Buckhead Investment Partners has named Michael Brocker as a personal wealth advisor and financial planner. Previously, Brocker was a vice president and family wealth advisor at SunTrust Bank affiliate GenSpring Family Offices.

Dow Schofield Watts has hired Peter Barkley and Callum Sellar as corporate finance executives. Previously, Barkley worked in the M&A department at BDO LLP, while Sellar worked at KPMG.

H.C. Wainwright & Co LLC has hired Ed Arce as managing director in equity research. Previously, Arce worked at Roth Capital Partners as a senior research analyst of biopharmaceuticals and specialty pharmaceuticals.

Jefferies has hired Rex H. Green and Jonathan A. Carey as managing directors and global co-heads of automotive aftermarket investment banking. Green was most recently a managing director responsible for a number of investment banking groups at BB&T Capital Markets. Carey was most recently a managing director and head of the automotive aftermarket investment banking practice at BB&T.

Outcome Capital, an investment bank focused on the middle market, has named Craig A. Steger as a senior advisor. Previously, Steger worked at Forge 4ward.

PROMOTIONS

Gridiron Capital has promoted William Hausberg to managing director. Hausberg is a director on the boards of several Gridiron portfolio companies and assists the management of Motion Recruitment Partners, Counsel on Call, Performance Health and Dent Wizard.

Kainos Capital has promoted Daniel Hopkin and Nirav Shah to partner. Previously, both served as principals at the firm. Hopkin joined Kainos in 2004, while Shah came on board in 2008.

Levine Leichtman Capital Partners said it has promoted David Burcham to managing director.

Wynnchurch Capital has promoted Brian Crumbaugh, Greg Gleason, Neel Mayenkar, and Michael Teplitsky to managing director.
