On the Move: Capital Dynamics names Ahmad COO, Stern hired to lead Neumann FO

Capital Dynamics named Hina Ahmad as chief operating officer. Ahmad has been the firm’s compliance officer and U.S. general counsel since January 2014.

RiverVest Venture Partners named Derek Rapp as managing director and Dr. Isaac Zike as senior associate. Previously Rapp was president and CEO of JDRF while Zike was a life science associate at Huron Consulting Group.

David Seider joined Weatherford Capital as vice president. Seider previously led merger and acquisition execution for Roper Technologies.

Trivest Partners promoted Chris Berton to vice president of business development. The firm also hired Tony Hill as a vice president of business development and Edward Kim as a director of business development.

Norwest Equity Partners said Sundip Murthy joined the firm as a partner. Murphy was previously with Snow Phipps where he acted as partner and head of the firm’s consumer sector.

Avantis Investors, a new venture by American Century Investments, named Stephen Kurad and Jeff Cornell as vice president, relationship director and investment specialist. Previously, both Kurad and Cornell worked as a vice president and regional director with Dimensional Fund Advisors.

3i named Sander Ruijter as a director in its Benelux team. 3i also expanded its private equity teams in Europe and North America with the addition of seven associates: Stephan Duwe; Kristina Wiren; Juliette Grognet; Charlie Kickham; Stephanie Handley; Connor Rossner; Jerin Thomas. The firm also promoted three investment professionals to director: Rowena Gracey; Nikhil Patel; Bastiaan Peer.

Trinity Ventures promoted John Lin to principal. The firm also hired Prakash Ramamurthy as operating partner and Lisa Coca as an executive-in-residence.

TSG Consumer Partners promoted Adam Hemmer to senior vice president. Hemmer joined the firm in 2015.

Arable Capital Partners named Matt Reus as a vice president in its Bellevue, Washington office. Previously he worked at Cascadia Capital.

Blackstone said Gabriel Sod Hoffs joined Blackstone Alternative Asset Management as a managing director and head of emerging markets and global macro strategy. Previously Sod Hoffs worked for Caxton Associates as a portfolio manager focusing on emerging markets.

Tikehau Capital named Guillaume Spinner as chief operating officer of Tikehau Investment Management. Spinner previously served as head of fund management at Aviva Investors Real Estate France.

AE Industrial Partners LP said Peter Cannito joined the firm as an operating partner. Cannito previously served as CEO of Polaris Alpha.

Joseph Landy is stepping down as co-CEO of Warburg Pincus and will transition out of the role over the next year, Bloomberg reported. Charles Kaye will become sole CEO.

Northlane Capital Partners promoted Scott Kauffman to partner. Kauffman first joined the private equity firm in 2004 as an associate and later rejoined in 2008 after completing business school.

Echo Health Ventures named Jonathan R. Eide as chief operating officer and Karim Botros as managing partner. Previously, Eide was partner at Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson while Botros worked as the chief strategy and innovation officer at MetroHealth System.

Ikove Capital hired Daniel Longhi as director and head of business development in America. Longhi is a former senior portfolio management associate at PNC Bank and ex-director of capital formation at GSEG/Focus Hospitality.

Pappas Capital promoted Dr. Kyle Rasbach to a managing partner of Pappas Ventures, the firm’s venture capital business. The firm also named Mathew Boyer as chief financial officer.

KKR appointed Emilia Sherifova as a member and chief information & innovation officer. Previously, Sherifova worked at Northwestern Mutual where she led the company’s digital transformation in the role of chief technology officer.

TA Associates said Elizabeth Qian joined as a vice president in its Boston office. Qian previously worked in finance & strategy at Amazon Web Services in Amazon.com’s leadership program and was a private equity associate at Riverside Partners.

Charlesbank Capital Partners named John Flannery as advisory director. Previously, Flannery was chairman and CEO of GE.

Sterling Partners’ Education Opportunity Fund named Ofa Stead as operating partner, talent and leadership. Previously, Stead worked at EOF’s portfolio company Amerigo Education where she served as chief of people and enterprise.

AI-enabled energy analytics solutions provider Innowatts named Eric Danzinger as chief revenue officer. Danzinger was the co-founder of Genability. Innowatts is backed by Energy Impact Partners, Evergy Ventures, Shell Ventures, Iberdrola, Energy and Environment Investment and Veronorte.

ABC Financial Services LLC named Bill Davis as CEO. The provider of technology and related financial services for the health and fitness industry is a portfolio company of Thoma Bravo.

Pandion Therapeutics, a biotech company focused on treating autoimmune and inflammatory disease, named Dr. Rahul Kakkar as CEO and a member of its board of directors. The company also promoted Dr. Jo Viney, a founder of the company, to president and chief statistic officer. Vikas Goyal joins as senior vice president of business development. Pandion is backed by Polaris Partners, Versant Ventures, Roche Venture Fund, SR One and BioInnovation Capital.

Armored Things, a provider of operational intelligence solutions, named Julie Johnson as CEO. Previously, Johnson was a VC at Qualcomm and vice president at PIMCO. Armored Things’ backers include Glasswing Ventures, iNovia Capital and MassVentures.

Tachyum Inc, a cloud chip startup, named Kiran Malwankar as vice president of system engineering. Tachyum is backed by IPM Growth.

Relationship intelligence platform Affinity expanded its senior team with four new hires: Andy Bryson as vice president of product, Travis Ortiz as vice president of design, Brian Cloughley as vice president of customer success and Stephani Martin as vice president of people. Affinity is backed by Advance Venture Partners, 8VC, MassMutual Ventures, Sway Ventures, Pear Ventures, Great Oaks Venture Capital and Western Technology Investment.

LeadingResponse, a provider of marketing solutions for the professional services industry, named Matthew Kearney as CEO. Previously Kearny was CEO of Screenvision. LeadingResponse is a portfolio company of ICV Partners.

ThriftBooks LLC, an online seller of used books, appointed Ross Mignoli as chief financial officer. Mignoli is a former partner at Arthur Andersen. ThriftBooks is backed by KCB Management.

Sidley Austin LLP named Oren Gertner as a partner in its investment funds practice. Previously he worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.

Maine Pointe, a supply chain and operations consulting firm, named Adam Smith as vice president, industry partner in the family office sector. Smith was recently the founder of Family Office Private Advisors.

Abacus Finance Group LLC hired Seth Friedman as a managing director and Austin Rendell as an analyst.

Signal Partners named Patricia Muise as a partner. Previously she was a senior client partner in Korn Ferry International’s consumer practice.

John McNally joined NFP’s M&A Transaction Risk Practice Group as national practice leader. NFP is backed by Madison Dearborn Partners.

Värde Partners named Ilfryn Carstairs as co-CEO. Carstairs will join George Hicks, the firm’s co-founder and CEO, as co-CEO. Hicks is planning on transitioning to executive chair in 2022.

Madison Capital Funding LLC, a subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company, named Eric Hartung as a managing director within the healthcare group as part of the specialty originations team. Previously, Hartung worked at Capital One as a managing director.
