On the Move, July 8, 2019: Genstar hires Greenwalt; Kennedy goes to BMO Family Office

PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

CloudScale Capital Partners LLC named Matt Bross as a partner. Bross is a former CTO of British Telecom, Williams Communications and Huawei.

Genstar Captial named Carolyn Greenwalt chief compliance officer for regulatory compliance and risk management. Greenwalt previously served as an attorney adviser at the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission.

Great Hill Partners LLC promoted Drew Loucks to partner. Loucks joined the Boston-based firm in 2011.

Manhattan Venture Partners named Andrea Lamari Walne as partner. She was previously at Carta, and prior to that was West Coast director for Nasdaq Private Market.

Baird appointed Scot Berg as a managing director in the firm’s global financial sponsor team. Previously, Baird was a managing director at RBC Capital Markets.

Leeds Equity Partners named Susan Cates as a partner. Cates is the former president of executive development at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.

KKR named Jerome Nomme as a member, effective September 1, 2019. Nomme will lead private equity investing in France. Previously, he led sourcing and execution of multiple investments across Western Europe with Sun Capital.

Commonfund Capital appointed Xiaonan Tian as associate director and head of its investment office in Beijing, China. Previously, Tian was senior vice president in structured banking at The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp.

Sante Ventures appointed Dennis McWilliams as a venture partner. Previously, McWilliams founded SparkMed Advisors.

Altus Capital Partners promoted Nick DeMarco to principal and Joshua Tesoriero to vice president. DeMarco previously worked at GE while Tesoriero worked at Morgan Stanley.

Matt Petronzio joined Twin Bridge Capital Partners as a partner. Petronzio was previously a partner with Five Points Capital.

Encore Consumer Capital promoted Kate Wallman to director. Wallman previously worked at Lineage Capital.

Pintango Venture Capital named Idit Muallem-Yedid and Yair Cassuto as partners. Both were previously principals.

Matthew Nacier rejoined Lincolnshire Management Inc as a senior associate. Separately, Nicolas Vega Llona joined Lincolnshire as a senior associate, and Yashna Ginodia and Greg Stolt-Nielsen joined the firm as analysts.

Incline Equity Partners promoted Joe Choorapuzha, John Morley and April Simile to partner. The firm also promoted Mike Antonelli to principal.

Maranon Capital named Ann O’Halloran as controller. O’Halloran was previously vice president and controller at Kramer Van Kirk Credit Strategies.

Iain Leigh is stepping down from APG as head of private equity and as a managing director at the end of 2019. Meanwhile, Greg Jania, head of fund investments, and Ken Bloomberg, head of co-investments, will co-head APG’s global PE program and join the executive board of APG Asset Management US Inc.

Sycamore Partners tapped Carla Vogel as chief compliance officer. Vogel is ex-global chief compliance officer at EIG Global Energy Partners.

Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe announced Simon Britton joined the firm’s healthcare team as an operating partner. Previously, Britton held senior positions at Premier Research, ICON Plc, PPD and GlaxoSmithKline.

Puls, which operates a network of service providers and technicians, named Mitch Galbraith CEO and a member of its board of directors. Previously, he was executive vice president and general manager of j2 Global’s gaming and entertainment division. Puls is backed by Sequoia Capital, Temasek, Viola and Samsung Next.

Artivest, a digital platform for alternative investing, named Karl Jaeger as chief financial officer. Previously, he was CFO of Strategic Insight. Artivest’s backers include Aquiline Capital Partners, Genstar Capital, KKR and Thiel Capital.

Data privacy software company Privitar named Bob Canaway as its chief marketing officer. Previously, Canaway was CMO at BlackDuck Software. Privitar is backed by 24 Haymarket, CME Ventures, Illuminate Financial, IQ Capital, Partech and Salesforce Ventures.

Data Gumbo Corp named Sergio A. Tuberquia as chief commercial officer. Prior to joining Data Gumbo, Tuberquia was founder and CEO of Equipcast. The blockchain-as-a-service platform provider is backed by Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures and Equinor Technology Ventures.

CloudCheckr named Tim McKinnon as CEO and a member of its board of directors. Previously, McKinnon was president and CEO of Sonian. CloudCheckr is backed by Level Equity.

Aceto named Gilles Cottier as CEO and appointed Rakesh Sachdev chairman of its board of directors. Aceto is backed by New Mountain Capital.

Williams Lea named Dan O’Brien as chief financial officer. Previously, O’Brien was global CFO at Sterling Talent Solutions. Williams Lea is part of Williams Lea Tag, which is backed by Advent International.

MarketCaste Group appointed Mike Goddard as chief financial officer and Tracy Behzad as vice president of human resources. MarketCaste Group is a portfolio company of Kohlberg & Company. It provides research and analytics for the media, entertainment and lifestyle industries.

Sports equipment company Varsity Brands appointed Martha May as chief human resources officer. May previously worked at The Freeman Company. Varsity Brands is a portfolio company of Bain Capital.

Alcresta Therapeutics Inc named Daniel Orlando as CEO and a member of its board of directors. Orlando was previously chief operating officer at Vericel Corp. Alcresta is backed by Athyrium Capital Management, Bessemer Ventures, Frazier Healthcare Partners, HealthQuest Capital and Third Rock Ventures.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Union Square Advisors named Michael Meyers as a partner and head of capital structure advisory in its New York office. It also appointed Emily Todd Anderson as director and head of sponsor coverage.

Constellation Advisors hired Ian Holroyd as director of its CFO and accounting practice and Kathy Pommet as associate director of its regulatory and compliance practice. Both will lead operations for the firm’s new Los Angeles office.
