Pantheon Adds To Secondaries Holdings

Pantheon International Participationa (PIP), the private equity investment trust managed by Pantheon Ventures, in January announced the acquisition of new secondaries holdings valued at GBP13 million (ecu 20 million).

PIP acquired units in one Japanese and one international private equity fund, plus a portfolio of twelve fund holdings with a predominantly European focus from three European institutional vendors.

Few additional details of the buys have been disclosed, though Pantheon Ventures’ European managing director Richard Bowley described the funds in question as largely fully-called, principally late-stage vehicles. He added “These transactions continue PIP’s strategy of seeking out investment opportunities through the secondary fund market, which historically has generated strong returns for our shareholders”.
