John Arlotta has joined General Atlantic as a special partner with a focus on the health care sector. Arlotta is former chairman and CEO of Coram Inc. and NeighborCare Inc.

Jamie Bellanca, former vice president of advanced technology for Cleversafe, has joined Baird Private Equity as an entrepreneur-in-residence. The firm also announced that Lily Wang has joined Baird Capital Partners Asia as an associate and promoted Michael Liang to partner of Baird Venture Partners.

Mitchell Berk has been named CEO of Hilco Consumer Capital. He most recently founded and ran Vortex LLX.

Michael Costa has joined Cowen Group has head of M&A and vice chairman of investment banking. He previously was a managing director focused on M&A with Merrill Lynch.

Chris Cox of Churchill Financial Holdings has been promoted to managing director and chief risk officer. Thomas Hennigan, also of Churchill, has been promoted to senior vice president and head of underwriting and portfolio management.

John Crocker has joined placement agent Atlantic-Pacific Capital as a partner in the firm’s private funds business. He previously was with Citi’s private funds group and, before that, Capital Z Investment Partners.

John Finley has agreed to join The Blackstone Group as a senior managing director and chief legal officer, effective Sept. 1. He will succeed Robert Friedman, who will continue with Blackstone for a short time before retiring. Finley is a partner with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, where he runs the global M&A group.

John Joyce has left Silver Lake Partners, where he had been a managing director since July 1995. He previously had spent 30 years with IBM. No word yet on his future plans.

Taimoor Labib has joined Standard Chartered as head of Middle East private equity. He previously led private equity for Jadwa Investment, a Riyadh-based merchant bank.

Vincent Lima has joined Moelis & Co. as a managing director of capital markets. He previously was with Christopher Street Capital.

Robert McGuire has joined CCMP Capital as a senior member of the firm’s London office. He most recently served as vice chairman of J.P. Morgan Cazenove.

Sundaram Rajago is rejoining Starwood Capital Group as managing director of India and Southeast Asia. He had left the firm in 2005 to join Third Point India, after which he went to Lehman Brothers. He will succeed Balaji Rao, who is leaving the firm “to pursue other interests.”

Yar-Ping Soo has joined Adams Street Partners as a partner in the firm’s investment team. Soo was previously with GIC Special Investments, the private equity division of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Soo will be based in Singapore and focus on fund investments and co-investments in the Asia-Pacific region.

J.T. Treadwell and Marc Bala, both of Symphony Technology Group, have been promoted to managing director and principal, respectively.

Steve Trevor is stepping down as co-head of Morgan Stanley’s private equity unit.

Benoit Verbrugghe of AXA Private Equity has been promoted from managing director to senior managing director, and he will relocate from Paris to run the firm’s New York office.
