BVP India Promotes Pair

Bessemer Venture Partners announced that its Mumbai-based affiliate has made two promotions: Anil Sarin to managing director and Vishal Gupta to vice president. Both men joined in 2006.

Bessemer Venture Partners, a global investment group, today announced two promotions within the Mumbai-based BVP India Investment Advisors Private Limited. Anil Sarin has been named a Managing Director and Vishal Gupta was elevated to Vice President.

 

Both Mr. Sarin and Mr. Gupta joined BVP India in 2006. Mr. Sarin had been with Prudential ICICI, where he won a number of awards as co-head of equities and grew the money that he managed from less than $30 million in 2004 to more than $800 million. He has been closely involved with BVP India's listed portfolio. Mr. Gupta was a Senior Manager in the Treasurer's office at Reliance Group and has since worked closely with several private and listed portfolio companies.  

 

Devesh Garg, Managing Director of BVP India, said, “We are delighted with these promotions. Anil and Vishal contribute valuable talent and knowledge to our efforts in India and have been responsible for a number of promising investments.”

 

Bessemer initiated its India practice in 2003 and has since invested in 17 Indian companies. During 2006, Bessemer raised a dedicated $350 million India fund as part of its $1.3 billion global fund.
