Canadian insurer Definity surges in market debut: Reuters

Waterloo, Ontario-based insurer Definity Financial Corp jumped as much as 36 percent on its stock market debut on Thursday after raising C$2.1 billion ($1.6 billion), Reuters reported.

Waterloo, Ontario-based insurer Definity Financial Corp jumped as much as 36 percent on its stock market debut on Thursday after raising C$2.1 billion ($1.6 billion), Reuters reported. The initial public offering is Canada’s largest this year. Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan and Swiss Re Group agreed to purchase shares valued at C$707 million, Definity said.
