Cantera Energy, a Texas-based oil and gas company that is backed by Kayne Anderson Energy Funds, said Wednesday that it has closed its acquisition of certain South Texas assets from EP Energy. The assets consist of over 750 producing wells located in nine Texas counties. No financial terms were disclosed for the transaction, which closed July 24, 2013. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, EP Energy is a provider of natural gas and energy-related products.
HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cantera Energy LLC (“Cantera”), an investment portfolio company of Kayne Anderson Energy Funds, announces that on July 24, 2013 it closed on the acquisition of certain South Texas assets from EP Energy (“EPE”). The assets consist of over 750 producing wells covering 78,000 net acres located in nine counties in Texas.
