Capetta joins Martin LLP

Martin LLP, a Stamford, Conn.-based law firm, said Monday that John Capetta has joined the firm to lead its Private Equity Practice Group. Capetta joins from Kelley Drye & Warren, where he was chair of the firm-wide Private Equity Practice Group.

August 4, 2014 – Martin LLP is pleased to announce that John Capetta has joined the firm to lead its Private Equity Practice Group.  John’s arrival further strengthens Martin LLPs’ national Corporate Practice.   John joins the firm from the international law firm of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, where he started his career and was chair of the firm-wide Private Equity Practice Group.

John has 34 years of experience in the area of mergers and acquisitions, including the representation of financial and strategic buyers, sellers (entities and individuals), and management in public and private acquisitions and divestitures and joint ventures.

John has represented a wide range of private equity firms, portfolio companies and portfolio company management, most notably Credit Suisse Private Equity, DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, Tailwind Capital Partners and Warburg Pincus.

John earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Connecticut where he served on the Connecticut Law Review as a Notes and Comments Editor.   He graduated with a B.S. in Accounting magna cum laude from Providence College and is admitted to practice in Connecticut and has begun the process of applying for admission on motion in New York.
