Placement agent Capstone Partners has named Brian DeFee to the post of principal in its U.S. distribution team. He will manage investor and fund manager relationships in the Northeastern and Eastern U.S. DeFee served previously as Vice President of Marketing with Panda Power Funds.

Prior to joining Capstone, Brian was the Vice President of Marketing with Panda Power Funds where he managed a global mandate to raise equity capital for developments and acquisitions in the energy and power sector. Previously Brian was a Managing Director with Commerce Street Capital, which successfully raised several funds during his tenure. He provided marketing expertise and managed the global fundraising activities of the sales staff. Prior to Commerce Street Capital, Brian held investment and marketing positions with the private equity funds of funds teams at Capital Dynamics and Paul Capital Investments. Brian began his career as an analyst at J.P. Morgan in the Equity Capital Markets Group working with the technology investment banking team.
Brian graduated with a BA in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder and earned an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
