CD&R brings aboard former Flex Systems CEO Bill Berutti as operating advisor

Berutti brings with him 25 years of experience in the enterprise software industry.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice has announced that Bill Berutti, former CEO of Plex systems, is to join as an operating advisor to CD&R managed funds.

Berutti has 25-plus years of experience as a senior executive and leader in the enterprise software industry. At Plex, he led a transformation of the company, delivering growth and profitability, which led to a sale to Rockwell Automation in 2021.

CD&R Principal Harsh Agarwal said of the appointment, “Bill’s deep experience driving growth and operations focused value creation, as well as his outstanding reputation and network of industry relationships cultivated over more than two decades, will be of great value to the CD&R funds as we continue to build our technology efforts.”

Berutti has also served as President of BMC Software, a SaaS and software solutions provider. At BMC, he led the cloud and enterprise solutions segment, representing $1.5 billion in annual revenue. Berutti 17 years at publicly traded PTC working across roles.

CD&R is headquartered in New York and targets investments in five industries: technology, industrials, healthcare, consumer, and financial services. CD&R has managed the investment of more than $40 billion in over 100 companies.
