Charles Mather has joined Janney Montgomery Scott as managing director in charge of private placements and alternative capital. He previously was a managing director and head of structured equities at Jefferies & Company.

Janney Montgomery Scott (“Janney”), a leading full-service investment banking and financial services firm, is pleased to announce the hiring of Charles E. Mather as Managing Director in charge of Private Placements and Alternative Capital.
As part of Janney’s Investment Bank, Mr. Mather will have responsibility for the firm’s private and alternative capital raising efforts across industry sectors. Throughout his career, Mr. Mather has invested or raised over $7 billion in capital for his clients in the form of growth financings, leveraged buy-outs, acquisition financings and recapitalizations.

About Mr. Mather:
Mr. Mather has more than 20 years of investment and investment banking experience. Prior to joining Janney, he served as Managing Director and Head of the Structured Equity Group at Jefferies where he was responsible for the origination and execution of private placements for private companies and registered direct and PIPE offerings for public companies. Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Mather was with Cowen and Company for ten years where he led the Private Equity Group. Prior to Cowen, Mr. Mather held senior investment and investment banking positions at Smith Barney Inc. and Prudential Investment Corporation. Mr. Mather, a Chartered Financial Analyst, received his A.B. from Brown University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
