Chinatrust Financial Plans $300M VC Fund

Chinatrust Financial, Taiwan’s top credit card issuer, is planning to raise $300 million for its first venture capital fund, Reuters reported Thursday. The company aims to invest in Taiwan companies operating in China.

(Reuters) – Chinatrust Financial, Taiwan’s top credit card issuer, said on Thursday it plans to raise $300 million in its first venture capital fund to invest in Taiwan companies operating in China.

The fund raising comes as Chinatrust expects approval from Taiwan regulators next year to set up an investment company in Shanghai, company president Daniel Wu told reporters. (Reporting by Faith Hung)
