Clorox Gets Bids for Auto Care Unit

(Reuters) – Clorox Co (CLX.N) has gotten more than 12 preliminary bids for its STP and Armor All auto-care brands, Bloomberg news reported on Friday.

Clorox, which said earlier this year it would explore options for the auto care business, could not be immediately reached for comment.

The company is asking $750 million for the assets, according to the report.

Blackstone Group LP, Golden Gate Capital and Castle Harlan Inc are among bidders, the report said.

Golden Gate, Blackstone and Castle Harlan could not be immediately reached for comment.

First-round bids were due two weeks ago and the auction is expected to conclude in late August or early September, Bloomberg reported. (Reporting by Jessica Hall; editing by Andre Grenon)
