Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to growth enterprises and the financial institutions that invest in and support them, today announced that Christopher W. Kirkham has become a partner at the firm. A highly accomplished and versatile corporate finance expert, Kirkham will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
“Christopher has deep experience with private equity firms and their portfolio companies, particularly in the area of debt finance,” said CEO Steve Bochner. “We see substantial opportunities in this area, and know that Christopher will be a terrific addition to our already strong mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance teams, particularly as we meet increasing demand from our private equity clients. We welcome him to our partnership.”
“Last year, the firm advised on approximately 150 M&A transactions and over 1,000 private financings,” said partner John Fore. “Christopher has worked with leading private equity sponsors and a significant number of public and private companies. In addition, he has particular expertise in the technology sector. All of this makes him a great fit for our firm and our clients.”
Kirkham specializes in the representation of private equity sponsors, commercial borrowers, and financial institutions in secured and unsecured senior and mezzanine debt financing transactions and related workouts and restructurings. In addition, he has extensive experience advising on cross-border financings and leveraged acquisition transactions, as well as structuring distressed acquisition financings and negotiating credit facilities for investment funds. He also has represented buyers, targets, and financial advisers in both public and private merger and acquisition transactions.
