CircleUp adds Lending Club COO/CMO to board of directors

Private equity crowdfunding platform CircleUp has appointed Scott Sanborn to its board of directors. Sanborn is the chief operating officer and chief marketing officer at Lending Club.


SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — CircleUp (, an online marketplace for private equity investing, announced today that Scott Sanborn has joined the company’s board of directors. Mr. Sanborn will continue his leadership role as chief operating officer and chief marketing officer at Lending Club (NYSE: LC), which recently completed an initial public offering. The announcement follows a year of significant growth at CircleUp, with more than $100M currently available for investment on the platform.

He has also held senior leadership roles at RedEnvelope, Inc., an e-commerce and catalog retailer of upscale gifts.
