Claremont Promotes Paul Straub And Micah Myers

Claremont Creek Ventures said Monday it promoted cleantech investors Paul Straub and Micah Myers. Straub is now a director and partner at the firm. Myers is now an investment principal. Both will continue their work with energy management and conservation investments.

PAUL STRAUB TO DIRECTOR AND MICAH MYERS TO PRINCIPAL

Straub and Myers help lead the firm’s successful energy management and conservation investment practice

OAKLAND, CA (December 20, 2010) – Claremont Creek Ventures today announced the promotion of Paul Straub from investment principal to director and a partner role in the firm.  It also announced the promotion of Micah Myers from investment associate to investment principal.  Both work mainly on the firm’s energy management and conservation investing team.

“Both Micah and Paul have been doing excellent work with our portfolio companies and supporting their needs as early stage ventures. They richly deserve these promotions,” said Nat Goldhaber, one of the founders of Claremont Creek and managing director of its energy management and conservation investment team.

“Paul’s early work helped PropertyBridge position the company for a successful exit,” said Randy Hawks, another managing director at Claremont Creek. “He is also providing significant lift on behalf of EcoFactor and Adura Technologies, and he is leading our efforts at Alphabet Energy.  We are pleased to have Paul expanding his role as a partner in our firm.”

PAUL STRAUB
Paul Straub joined Claremont Creek Ventures in 2005. He primarily focuses on the firm’s energy management and conservation investments. Paul currently serves on the board of Alphabet Energy and as a board observer at Ecofactor, Adura Technologies and TargetCast Networks.  Paul also worked actively with the firm’s investments in PropertyBridge, sold to MoneyGram (MGI), and Lefora, sold to CrowdGather (CRWG).

He brings more than a decade of experience investing in and working for technology companies, primarily in software and online services.  Previously, Paul spent several years as an associate at Infinity Capital and Information Technology Ventures in Palo Alto, where he focused on early-stage investments in software and services companies.  He also worked in product management at Veritas Software and as a consultant to management at Red Hat Software. Paul began his career at Montgomery Securities and subsequently joined Thomas Weisel Partners as a member of the mergers & acquisitions investment banking team.

Paul holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a BS in commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.

MICAH MYERS

Micah Myers joined Claremont Creek Ventures in 2009. He currently serves as a board observer at Alphabet Energy, Sentilla Corporation and Clean Power Finance.

Prior to joining Claremont Creek Ventures, Micah worked as an analyst with the energy
team at Passport Capital, where he focused on both public and private investments in the
renewable energy sector and as a product manager at Clean Power Finance, a residential solar
finance start up. He has been in operational roles for over 15 years and has experience in
renewable energy, software and finance. Micah served more than eleven years active duty in the
United States Marine Corps, where he flew the F/A-18 Hornet, earned the designation
of Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor (SFTI) at TOPGUN and later taught air combat tactics to new
Marine fighter pilots. He continues to serve as a Major in the Select Marine Corps Reserve.

Micah holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of California at Davis and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
