A group of co-op members has raised more than C$50,000 for a legal fund in a campaign to stop the sale of Mountain Equipment Co-op to Kingswood Capital Management, according to a Globe and Mail report. The group plans to petition the court for representation in the proceedings that began last week when MEC obtained creditor protection and announced the sale. Vancouver-based MEC is a provider of outdoor recreation clothing and equipment.
