Cogent Partners expands Shanghai team

Cogent Partners, a private equity-focused investment bank, has relocated director Dominik Woessner from London to Shanghai to continue building on the firm’s presence in the region. Since joining Cogent Partners in 2007, Woessner has advised a number of global institutional investors on strategic secondary sales of private equity fund interests. Additionally, he has worked with general partners to restructure existing private equity funds in order to generate liquidity for limited partners.

Cogent Partners, a private equity-focused investment bank, announced today that Dominik Woessner, a Director, has relocated from London to Shanghai to continue building out the firm’s presence in the region.
“Dominik has contributed significantly to the firm’s successful expansion in Europe,” said Stephen Sloan, Managing Partner. “His experience will further enhance the firm’s ability to provide our clients with valuable market insight and expand our reach to institutional investors in Asia.”
Since joining Cogent Partners in 2007, Mr. Woessner has advised a number of the world’s leading institutional investors on strategic secondary sales of private equity fund interests. Additionally, he has worked with general partners to restructure existing private equity funds in order to generate liquidity for limited partners. Mr. Woessner joined Cogent Partners from Greenpark Capital, an investment firm specialized on acquiring private equity interests on the secondary market. Prior to joining Greenpark Capital, Mr. Woessner worked in KPMG’s Transaction Services unit, advising private equity clients in various European countries.
“After six years of serving Cogent’s European clients from our London office, I’m excited about relocating to Shanghai to spend more time working with limited partners throughout Asia,” said Woessner. “The region is becoming increasingly active with regards to secondary transactions, and I look forward to continuing to build out the firm’s relationships and working with our clients in Asia.”
Mr. Woessner holds an MBA/MIM from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in Business Administration from the Ravensburg University of Cooperative Education.
