Cogent Partners has promoted Jeffrey Reece to director in Shanghai and Wes Bender to vice president in Dallas. Prior to joining Cogent in 2011, Reece was a vice president at Ewing Management Group (formerly Carlyle Management Group), where he was responsible for growth equity investments in China and special situation investments in the United States.
Cogent Partners, an alternative asset-focused investment bank,
announced today that it has promoted Jeffrey Reece to Director in Shanghai and Wes Bender
to Vice President in Dallas.
Prior to joining Cogent in 2011, Mr. Reece was a Vice President at Ewing Management Group
(formerly Carlyle Management Group), where he was responsible for growth equity investments
in China and special situation investments in the United States. Previously Mr. Reece was an
Associate at Oliver Wyman Consulting (formerly Mercer Management Consulting), where he
advised automotive, aviation, and manufacturing clients on strategic and operational issues. Mr.
Reece holds a BS in Economics from Utah State University.

Mr. Bender joined Cogent Partners in 2011 from Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services
group, where he performed business and intangible asset valuations for mergers and
acquisitions, restructuring, financial reporting, income tax planning and litigation support for
clients in the private equity, energy, financial services and airline sectors. Mr. Bender holds a
BA from Texas Christian University and is a CFA charterholder.
