Commonfund expands team with new addition

Investment firm Commonfund has hired Jack H. Foster as managing director, private equity specialist. Previously, Foster worked at Capital Dynamics Inc where he served as a senior vice president.

WILTON, CT, February 9, 2015 – Commonfund, a leading institutional investment manager, today announced the appointment of Jack H. Foster, Jr. as Managing Director, Private Equity Specialist. In this newly created position, Mr. Foster will work with institutional investors in the Eastern U.S. and Canada to build custom private equity portfolios of direct funds, secondaries, co-investment and specialized fund-of-funds.

Prior to Commonfund, Mr. Foster was Senior Vice President at Capital Dynamics, Inc., New York, NY since 2011. While there, he helped clients build private equity programs through funds and custom/separate accounts. He also advised clients on investment opportunities in secondaries, clean energy infrastructure and mid-market buyouts in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Previously, Mr. Foster was a Director, Private Capital at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. – CastleOak Securities and Vice President, Corporate Finance/M&A, at Blaylock & Company both in New York. He has also held positions at J.P. Morgan Securities, SONY Music Entertainment and Coopers & Lybrand.

Mr. Foster holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York, NY and a Bachelor of Science, Accounting, cum laude from Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, FL. He holds Series 7 and 63 certifications and he is New York Regional Vice President for the Robert A. Toigo Foundation.
