Sur La Table, a cooking and dining supplies retailer, has named Billy May as CEO. Previously, May worked at Abercrombie and Fitch where he most recently served as senior vice president. Sur La Table is backed by Investcorp.
Sur La Table, the leading retail destination since 1972 for those passionate about cooking and entertaining, announced today the appointment of Billy May as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. May, a fourth-generation retailer with over two decades of retail, digital marketing, and eCommerce experience, will also join the Board of Directors. He succeeds Diane Neal who retired earlier this year.

May brings deep marketing, merchandising, and operations experience to Sur La Table with a strong focus on customer-facing growth initiatives across multiple platforms. He joins the company from Abercrombie and Fitch (“ANF”) where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and member of the executive leadership team. At ANF, May was responsible for marketing, eCommerce, omnichannel and corporate expansion initiatives across all brands and geographies. Previously, he helped lead Global Digital and eCommerce at adidas Group, and held various leadership roles at Sears Holdings and Lowe’s Companies. He started his career as an executive trainee and buyer within the May Department Stores Company. In addition to his executive role, May also serves as Vice Chair and member of the Board of Directors of Shop.org, the digital division of the National Retail Federation.
