Corsair promotes Kirk to MD

Corsair Capital has named James E. Kirk as a managing director. The appointment is effective immediately. Kirk joined Corsair as a principal in 2004 and prior to that, was an investment banker at JP Morgan, advising on M&A and fundraising.

NEW YORK, Feb. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Corsair Capital (“Corsair”), a leading investor in the global financial services industry, announced today that James E. Kirk has been named Managing Director, effective immediately.
Mr. Kirk has been a longtime investment professional at Corsair, serving as Principal since 2004 and as a member of the Investment Committee. Previously, Mr. Kirk was an investment banker in the Healthcare group at J.P. Morgan from 2003 – 2004, where he advised on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising activities.

Mr. Kirk serves as a member of the Board of Directors or a board observer at two of Corsair’s portfolio companies—REPAY Holdings, which provides electronic transaction processing services for retailers, and First Eagle Investment Management, an independent asset management firm.

Mr. Kirk earned a B.A. in Economics and a certificate in East Asian Studies from Princeton University.
