David Istock has joined Cowen Group as a San Francisco-based senior professional focused on technology M&A. He previously was with UBS.

Cowen Group, Inc. (“Cowen”) (Nasdaq: COWN) today announced that David Istock has joined the firm as a senior professional focused on technology sector mergers and acquisitions. Â Mr. Istock, joins Cowen from UBS, where he also focused on mergers and acquisitions for technology companies. Â Mr. Istock will be based in San Francisco. Â

Mr. Istock joins Cowen and Company with fifteen years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and the technology industry. Â Prior to his five years at UBS, he co-founded Bluefish Ventures, a technology-focused venture capital fund. Â Mr. Istock started his career in the mergers & acquisitions group at PaineWebber Incorporated. Â He received a B.S. from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania. Â
