Crofton Capital Buys CognitiveTPG

Crofton Capital announced Tuesday that it has acquired New York-based CognitiveTPG, a supplier of point-of-sale transaction and barcode printers. Capital partnered with DeltaPoint Capital Management and Boston Harbor Capital on the deal. Additional financing was provided by Pine Street Capital Partners. Terms of the deal were not released.

Crofton Capital, LLC, a growth private equity firm based in the Boston area, has acquired CognitiveTPG, LLC, an innovative supplier of point-of-sale transaction and barcode printers. Crofton Capitalpartnered with DeltaPoint Capital Management and Boston Harbor Capital in the transaction. Additional financing was provided by Pine Street Capital Partners.

 

CognitiveTPG traces its roots back to 1972 as the in-house thermal and impact printer group of NCR based in Ithaca, New York.   Throughout its history, CognitiveTPG has developed several industry firsts, including the first thermal/impact hybrid printer with integrated check reading capability, the first two-color thermal printers, and the first desktop barcode label printer.  The Company will continue to be led by its President and CEO, Kyle Turner.
