CVC Hires Bankers for Samsonite IPO

Buyout shop CVC Capital Partners has hired Goldman Sachs, HSBC Holdings and Morgan Stanley as joint coordinators for the planned initial public offering of its portfolio company Samsonite, Reuters reported, citing an article in IFR. Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS were named joint book runners, the report said. Samsonite is expected to raise up to $1.5 billion in its Hong Kong IPO, planned for as early as June.

(Reuters) – Private equity fund CVC Capital Partners has hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N), HSBC Holdings Plc (0005.HK)(HSBA.L) and Morgan Stanley (MS.N) as joint global co-ordinators for the planned Hong Kong initial public offering of luggage maker Samsonite, IFR reported late on Monday.

Royal Bank of Scotland Plc (RBS.L) and UBS AG (UBSN.VX) were named joint book runners, IFR said. Luxembourg-based Samsonite was expected to raise $1-1.5 billion by as early as June, the report added.
